What is the process
In
the process of creating silver jewelry, you will go through 9 stages:
- Design Selection:
You will choose the design for your own silver jewelry. The workshop provides several design options for reference, making it easy for tourists to select the design they want to create. Alternatively, tourists can bring their own designs, which will be discussed with the silversmith to ensure feasibility within the 2-hour duration.
- Material Introduction:
After design selection, you will be introduced to the tools and materials used in crafting the jewelry, including the use of pure silver or sterling silver 925 (if silver is chosen).
- Melting:
Melting is the initial stage in the jewelry-making process. You will melt pure silver using a specialized furnace. Once melted, it is poured into molds to form silver bars that will undergo further processing.
- Hammering:
Once cast into bars, the silver is hammered to make it hard and durable, preventing breakage during subsequent processes.
- Drawing:
The next stage involves drawing, transforming the hammered silver into flat sheets or wires using a special tool. This step is crucial in achieving the desired shape and size for the jewelry.
- Jewelry Formation:
With the silver now in the form of sheets or wires, tourists will personally shape the jewelry according to their preferences, allowing for creative expression in the crafting process.
- Soldering:
After shaping the jewelry, tourists will proceed to soldering, connecting separate parts of the jewelry.
- Polishing:
Following the soldering process, the jewelry undergoes polishing to remove any remnants from cutting or soldering, ensuring a clean and finished appearance.
- Buffing:
The final step involves buffing the jewelry to give it a polished and shiny finish, using specialized polishing tools.
- Jewelry
Ready for Use:
After completing the entire process, the crafted jewelry is now ready for use, allowing tourists to take home their unique and personally crafted silver pieces.
